Integrating technology
Websites
You can have students creating their own websites or adding to websites you create and manage. Using platforms such as this one, is a great easy and free tool. It also gives you blogging options. |
Digital Storybooks
There are a bunch of websites where students can publish their books online. You can create QR codes for the books too and to allow easy access to others, and it is a great way to display student work. EPubBud is one of these sites and it is super easy to use. There are many more out there, this is just one I have used. Also do not feel limited to written books, students can make videos too!
Here is a link to some of the work students have created in the past.

Typing/ Apps
If you have really young kids, or don't have access to internet, you can integrate technology simply by having students type stories using a computer, laptop or iPad. There are many great apps that allow students to write stories. You also do not have to be limited to writing stories, you can create graphic novels or comic books. |
Social media
Social media really becomes important when you can solve problems with it. Facebook can create pages, twitter has amazing hashtags: #likeagirl This is a great site for using social media and empowering young girls and women.

- Technology integration does NOT mean you have to do more work, it just means you can have more options :) Trust me it's a good thing. That nonfiction news article can literally become a blog! Researching it becomes so much easier too! I love the internet.
- You can cut sharing time and open it up more, if every student is blogging about the work they are creating.
